SHUTTLE SERVICE
Shuttle Service to & from BC Ferries terminal at Bear Cove.
This shuttle meets the incoming ferries and transports passengers to their accommodation or other points in Port Hardy. The shuttle service is also available for passengers wishing to travel from their accommodation to the BC Ferries terminal. The shuttle can be booked when you check into your accommodation or it will automatically meet the incoming ferry. Cost is $6.50 per person including taxes.

HIGHWAY
From the lower mainland (Greater Vancouver area) take BC Ferries to Victoria and follow the Island Highway North (1), which turns into (19.) Drive time from Victoria is approximately 6 hours depending on traffic volume (502 km.)

From the lower mainland take BC Ferries to Nanaimo and follow the Island Highway North (19.) Drive time from Nanaimo is approximately 4 hours (391 km.)

The highway is paved and in excellent condition. There are many new sections with four lanes, as well as two lanes. The drive is scenic and there are many rest stops and points of interest along the way. If you are interested in seeing the communities along the way take the Oceanside Route (19A) where possible. If you need to get from point A to point B, the Connector (19) should be your route of choice. North of Campbell River follow The North Island Highway (19.) Drive time from Campbell River is approximately 2.5 hours (238 km.)

INSIDE PASSAGE
This spectacular summer voyage takes you between Port Hardy, at Vancouver Islands northern tip, and Prince Rupert, BC's northern most port. The voyage takes 15 hours - cabins are available on board, reservations are a must.

DISCOVERY COAST PASSAGE
This route takes you between Port Hardy and Bella Coola, on BC's mid-coast, with several stops along the way. The voyage takes 33 hours from Port Hardy to Bella Coola. Cabins are not available, however, there are showers and reclining seats, reservations are highly recommended.
